LAKE CITY LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IS RENEWED AND ENGAGED The LCLDC was originally formed in the late 1990’s, however, until recently, the organization lay dormant. But with all the new interest in Downtown revitalization gaining momentum, the LCLDC has been re-relaunched. Development authorities, like the LCLDC, play an integral role in supporting the growth and community renewal of municipalities across the state. "Until recently, the LCLDC was only a development corporation in name," says Doug Butdorf, LCLDC President. "We've been reinvigorated by Mayor Read and tasked to engage the community, helping to develop significant and transformative quality of life projects that will make an impact for generations to come. We take that pretty seriously."
The LCLDC has been integral in previous projects, but none so important as administering an economic development revolving loan fund. This revolving loan fund is an opportunity for businesses operating in the City of Plattsburgh to fund growth, start-up, and other business need. "The loan fund is in place to help businesses grow in our community," notes Butdorf. "It's not the only thing we'll focus on as an organization, but it's one that we want our community to know about and take advantage of."
As the LCLDC relaunches its efforts, they're looking for community support and feedback. The board has setup a short survey and invites everyone to participate. "Community engagement, and hearing from those people who will be most affected is the only way for us to be successful," says board member and County Legislator Chris Rosenquest. "This is an organization that can truly make a lasting impact in our city. The key to our success is engaging with our community and hearing from the many different perspectives that comprise our community."

The board encourages every and all people to support the future development of the City of Plattsburgh and have their voices heard.
