Fitness programs at the City Recreation Center are designed to be progressive and more stimulating. While individual personal training is the best way to get a truly personalized exercise experience, specialized programs are the next best option to have semi-personalized programming at an affordable price.

The North Country's Biggest Loser
A comprehensive 6-Month Weight Loss Program that includes physical exercise, nutritional consultation, and motivation support.
A weight management and strength training program designed to help participants lose or maintain weight and health. If you want to do personal training but are worried about the price, this is the program for you. Participants will learn how to lift correctly and perform exercises designed by a certified personal trainer. Print out the form below and bring it to the City Recreation Center to get started!
For active adults over the age of 50 who are looking to stay healthy and fit. Functional strength training will be the focus along with maintaining balance and mobility. Those doing Pickleball, tennis, curling, shuffleboard, and other recreational sports are encouraged to join.
Plattsburgh Rise & Grind
Early Total Body Workout
Plattsburgh Rise & Grind is a program dedicated to anyone that needs an early workout before they head to other commitments in their day. Workouts will be varied and consist of exercises such as, lunging, crawling, climbing, running, and lifting weights among many other creative and challenging activities. The instructor is prepared to modify some exercises if necessary, but participants should generally be comfortable doing body weight exercises.
Learn the Basics of Exercise
Program will help you learn proper fitness guidelines in a gym setting. Great for beginners and newcomers who want to learn the correct ways to lift weights, use cardio machines, and operate circuit equipment. Class is three days for 1 hour each day.
