As part of the adopted Bike Friendly Plattsburgh Plan, the City of Plattsburgh is excited to announce the installation of new sharrows (shared lane markings) on various streets throughout the city. Click for more details.

The Plattsburgh City Beach is officially back open for swimming after Beach Staff received a clear result from water testing that was conducted on Tuesday July 18th.

City staff have submitted a list of proposed initial Parks Renewal projects to the Common Council for their review and approval. The list of recommendations was informed by public input and includes much needed upgrades to restroom facilities, refurbished basketball and pickleball courts, walking paths, and playgrounds at various park locations throughout the City.

The City Beach Swimming area will be closed for swimming starting on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 until further notice. Notices are also posted onsite. Click for more details.

The City’s Riverwalk project kicked off at the beginning of May and is well underway with substantial completion of construction expected in late September 2023.  The City’s general contractor for the project is Luck Brothers, Inc. and the construction cost is just over $1.6 million.

Construction will begin on Monday May 1st to complete the Saranac Riverwalk (Riverwalk) which will be built atop the western bank of the Saranac River between Bridge Street and Broad Street and will end at the intersection of Durkee Street and Broad Street near the current terminus of the Saranac River Trail.

As part of the 2022 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process, the City of Plattsburgh has been awarded $817,525 in grant funding via the Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) Program.
