The City of Plattsburgh and the Plattsburgh YMCA launched their partnership to bring recreation opportunities to city youth this fall through soccer and basketball leagues.

The City of Plattsburgh welcomed over 30 community members on Wednesday October 18th, at its first public workshop for the City’s Zoning and Coding update.

The City of Plattsburgh is excited to announce SmartCode Plattsburgh! This spring, SmartCode Plattsburgh initiated a holistic review and update of the City of Plattsburgh’s codes to foster improvements in zoning, subdivision, and related land use regulations. The project is still in its early stages, but is expected to be completed by August 2024.

The Saranac Riverwalk is now open to both pedestrians and cyclists and includes a 10-foot wide multi-use path, two overlooks, improved lighting, and extensive landscaping. Residents and visitors alike can now enjoy views of the Saranac River as well as increased connectivity to the City’s trail network, which will now stretch nearly unbroken from MacDonough Park to George Angell Drive.

The City of Plattsburgh is proposing to make available loans with zero payments for the first year and zero interest for the first two years to qualifying businesses that have been directly impacted by the Margaret Street Reconstruction Project.

As part of New York State’s annual Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process, the City of Plattsburgh submitted grant applications requesting over $5.2 million in total funding spread across eight projects throughout the City.

LAND Remediation, Inc. (LAND) recently leased the property at 95 Cumberland Avenue in the City of Plattsburgh and is using it as an equipment storage yard. Click for more details.

As part of the adopted Bike Friendly Plattsburgh Plan, the City of Plattsburgh is excited to announce the installation of new sharrows (shared lane markings) on various streets throughout the city. Click for more details.

The Plattsburgh City Beach is officially back open for swimming after Beach Staff received a clear result from water testing that was conducted on Tuesday July 18th.
