Climate Task Force will meet 11/16 at the Plattsburgh Public Library

The City of Plattsburgh Climate Task Force will meet Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 5--6:30 pm at the Plattsburgh Public Library, upstairs.  Various topics and projects will be discussed.

  • Vermont Energy Investment Corporation's contract with the city to complete a Greenhouse Gas Inventory and a Climate Action over the next few months is going forward with a kick off meeting for stakeholders to be planned soon.  Funded by a Climate Smart Community matching grant, these projects will be the first of their kind in our region.
  • Working group reports
    • The Organics Management group hopes to meet with Environmental Services head, Jon Ruff, to discuss the city's long range plans for diverting organics from the landfill.
    • The Energy Campaign group will discuss its plan to educate the public about heat pumps over the next few months.
    • The Water-smart Landscaping group is assisting the city in its application of a grant to fund a native species demonstration garden in the spring.
