Plattsburgh Professional Firefighters Local 2421 is seeking quotes from professional agencies to do a departmental analysis, the goal of which is to improve public safety through a better understanding of departmental staffing, services, and delivery.

The Tannen-BOOM community bonfire event has been canceled due to forecasted high winds which pose a public safety concern. Due to staffing and vendor availability, the event will not be rescheduled in 2024.

Plattsburgh City Mayor, Christopher Rosenquest is looking to create a commission to explore the future of the City’s form of government. Currently, the City operates under a “Strong Mayor” model. A Strong Mayor form of government is defined by a Mayor who acts as the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Presiding Officer of the legislative body — in Plattsburgh’s case, the City Common Council.
