Special Item Disposal

There is an extra charge for all refuse that is not considered normal household garbage, and/or may require special handling and separation. Please see the chart below for instructions on how to dispose of special items.

  • Regular Pick-Up Size Load - $30 - city refuse customer / $35 - non-city refuse customer
  • Small Dump Truck Size Load - $80.25 - city refuse customer / $85.25 - non-city refuse customer

TREE LIMBS, BRANCHES OR BRUSH NOT BAGGED

Due to scheduling difficulties or because of unusually large amounts citywide, it may take a few extra days for the collection of such.  Patience is requested.

A special pick-up fee (based on load size) will be charged in addition to the monthly fee for any tree limbs, branches or brush that is not bagged.  Contact Public Works for pricing.

TIRES

Must be off the rim and will be picked up at curbside for a separate charge per tire.  A regular size car or truck tire would be $10.00 each.

DISPOSAL OF USED HYPODERMIC NEEDLES

Place used hypodermic needles in a heavy plastic jug with cap and label plastic jug with “Medical Waste” sticker.  Place the jug in a regular clear garbage bag and not in the recycling bin.

LIGHT BULBS

Place in separate bag outside your garbage container. Bulbs containing mercury are not acceptable and will need to be taken to the landfill on Hazardous Waste Day (first Saturday in June each year).

PAINT CANS

Discard paint, remove lid and place in separate bag outside your garbage container.  Paint cans must be empty and dry.

ELECTRONICSRefuse service does not accept electronics (computers, CRT screens, televisions etc). Please click here for more information regarding the disposal of electronics.
